Where is Trabuco Canyon?
Trabuco Canyon is technically an unincorporated area of still very rural and suburban South Orange County, California. Trabuco Canyon once represented a geographical area that spanned
a large portion of the South-East Orange County. Much of this land has been developed into individual communities that still associate themselves strongly with the canyon
but have their own unique character. These communities include Downtown Trabuco Canyon, Live Oak Canyon, Holy Jim Canyon, Robinson Ranch, Dove Canyon, Coto De Caza and Rancho Santa Margarita.
The area of Trabuco Canyon between Cook's Corner, Trabuco Oaks Drive and rugged Trabuco Creek Road is the heart and soul of the greater community.
These neighborhoods have quaint and peaceful streets lined with oak trees, old rustic cabins with the number of horses outnumbering the residents.

Friends - The Sports Tavern
This is a cool new bar, with tons of flat screen TVs, great food and live music. It's situated near the entrace to Dove Canyon and Coto de Caza. This is a great addition
to the local list of hang-outs in the canyon area.
Cook's Corner
Cook's (as the locals refer to it) is an legendary bar/grill/hang-out that's been around over 80 years. Cook's in the past may have had a reputation as
a rowdy biker bar where you might be rubbing elbows with the Hell's Angels and cowboys. Over the years it's turned into a place where most everybody can show up and have fun.
When the weather is nice you will no doubt see hundreds of beautiful Harley-Davidson motorcycles, choppers, sport bikes, trikes, hot-rods and everything in between parked out
front. This place is the mecca for Southern Californian's who want to go for a ride, show off their toys, drink a beer and appreciate what others rode in on.
Sometimes the rides people take to Cook's aren't motored either, they are often frequented by mobs of horseback riders and mountain bikers. On the weekends Cook's
will usually have a live band playing. Friday nights are typically live country music and the rest of the weekend you get mostly rock and blues.
Trabuco Oaks Steak House
This restaurant has been around a long time and if you haven't been here before you are missing out on one of
Orange County's hidden gems. In the evening the parking lot is never empty and it's highly recommended you make
reservations. This place is all about steak and it's rated as some of the best in the county. It's a small, charming and casual place with oak trees growing
right through the center of the restaurant. Don't let quaint atmosphere fool you, this place is a favorite of Orange County
elite and the walls are signed with signed celebrity photos adorning the place with their praises. This was one of Richard Nixon's favorite restaurants!
Rose Canyon Cantina
Finding this place is half the fun and if you drink too many of their delicious Margaritas you might not find your way
back. With various names and owners this place has been around a couple decades and has always served good Mexican food.
The setting, outdoor patio and margaritas make Rose's Cantina a place to check out. The food is good and on par with some of the
bigger Mexican chain restaurants.
